Welcome To Westoe Crown Primary School

It is a real pleasure and absolute privilege, as the new Headteacher, to be leading us forward in the next steps of our journey. 

Westoe Crown is a truly unique school, close to the coast and built on the former Westoe Colliery site; a strong sense of community spirit and strong family ethos permeates throughout the school. Partnership working with our families is central to our provision, particularly in supporting excellent attendance and behaviour which we know has a great impact on learning. 

I am passionate that we create a truly outstanding school built on secure Early Years’ foundations, excellent teaching, a daring, memorable, creative curriculum and consistently high academic attainment and progress for all learners. Learning is embedded creatively through a breadth and quality of contextual learning experiences; engineering and enterprise skills feature highly in our ambitious curriculum. We pride ourselves in providing an inclusive provision making our young people feel special and encouraged to reach their full potential whilst nurturing their talents across all areas of the curriculum. 

We have high expectations within our whole school community. Our staff are dedicated, hardworking and experienced. We provide a caring, friendly, happy and safe environment and recognise that every child is unique. 

It is our vision that the children of Westoe Crown leave us in Year 6 as happy, successful, articulate, aspirational and empathetic young people, eager for the next stage of learning in their lives and are respectful of the diverse cultures within modern British society.
